Chapter Twenty-Nine

"Adriel?" She stood in awe and shock..he was the last person she'd ever expect to see on her porch this early morning.

"What are you doing here?" She asked looking at him, he looked all dressed up for work, his countenance not as cool as she had always known it to be.

"Can I come in?" He said curtly, with his left hand fixed in his pocket.

"Why? What do you have to say to me that you had to cut your journey to the office short to come to meet with me?" She told him, with her hands in akimbo. He looked at her intently, for a while more like a stare, then sighs, looking down then up at him.

"Fine, if that is what you want then I'll just tell you."

"Sure." She replied.

"I want you to stop the nonsense you are pulling. I don't know what strings you're trying to pull but I was you to know that we're not getting married. Not now, not ever." He stated, she scoffed, was he joking? Everything to him seemed like a joke anyways.
