5 - Aunt Lisa

Everybody looked at me after my decision. They saw no fear in my eyes, and I noticed admiration in their eyes. They approved of me, they approved of my determination, they approved of my courage and I can sense a new me in them. I was never taken seriously, but today everyone can see that I am ready for this, that I was born to do this.

My father was the most confident person in the hall. He said "I feel like the most proud father in the world Allie, your words just now prove that. Your determination fills my chest with pride. I am so proud of you my baby."

That's it. In that moment I run to my father and hug him like this is my last chance. I am not able to see him the next day.

Following this, everyone came to hug me and say the same thing again and again: we are so proud of you Allie, we are so proud of you.

The dinner was pleasant after the news, and everyone was hoping that things would work out.

Aunt Lisa is a little awkward in front of me and I remember why, so I think this is the right time to confront her.

All the family members were working on their chores, and my father and uncles were planning how they would behave when I left. Then My Grandmother, she is telling stories of the other Queen to the kids, while my mother and aunts are cleaning after dinner. I walked into the kitchen.

I called my aunt. "Aunt Lisa can I have a word with you?"

She stopped her work and looked at me and said, "Of course Allie, what is it?"

I just mouthed her not here and directed my finger to my room.

She nodded.

I called my mother and told her that, "I am heading to my room with aunt Lisa."

She said "ok dear."

We didn't say a word until we reached my room.

I told her to sit on my bed and I locked the door.

When I am sure it is locked I turn and ask her " What is the situation with you and Richard?"

She was shocked. "Allie I think Richard already talked with you about this and I hope you haven't told this to anyone."

I said " Yes aunt Lisa I know but I want the whole story. You already know how Richard is. He is excellent at protecting us, and he is also excellent at having different girls on the same bed."

Her reply was "I know Allie, but it's a mutual thing. He hasn't found his mate yet, and whenever he sees me, he says he can't control himself."

I ask worriedly " Aunt Lisa don't tell me this was not your first time with him."

" Don't be stupid Allie, I know his reputation with girls, I'll tell you what actually happened, your father told him to bring something from the store room and he headed to the store room and I was thirsty so I was going to the kitchen we walked on the same route and collided with each other and he felt electric current run all over his body then suddenly he took me in the store room and he slowly growled I don't know what happened in that moment and he started kissing me and I liked his touch so I kiss him back and then suddenly you saw us."

Afterwards, we just felt something was off and he left and I walked into the kitchen, but nothing had happened. I talked with him and he said he was not sure and I am too, so we are maintaining our distance now."

I thought and said "If you say so Aunt Lisa, I am not questioning you about what you do but I want you to know what kind of a person Richard is."

"I know Allie, don't worry, but there's something special about his touch that makes me want more. "I couldn't resist him at that moment; I couldn't stop myself, but when you saw us all, I think the spark was missing for a while." She said.

" Aunt do you think like you can be his mate but you are not a wolf so you didn't recognise him?"

She said, "Maybe, maybe not. Well, we are all focused more on you and our curse, so we haven't thought about it much."

I promised " Don't you worry Aunt I'll try my very best, I'll not lose hope, I won't run from there either. I'll do this for all of us."

I thought for some time that I wanted to ask her for so long and I asked " Aunt Lisa can I ask you something?"

"If it is about Richard once more, then..." I interrupted. "No no no ... It's about Grandmother?"

"Then I know what you want to know Allie, how my mama is still alive right now. She is 58 now."

I nodded

"Then I'll tell you, My mama is Elder Witch Queen she can live as much as she wants because she is the queen and we I mean my sister Fairy and brother James we are her children we carry the curse. Previously, anyone married into your family was not from a royal family, rather, they were ordinary witches from distant relatives. I took in all the information that was brand-new to me.

"I know Allie, I know. Focus on shifting and finding your mate. We are all with you. Rest early, darling, you will be shifted tomorrow at midnight and won't be getting any sleep for a while." She whispered lovingly.

"Good night to you too Aunt Lisa" I said

Once Aunt Lisa left I started to think about my shift which is tomorrow and I really felt nervous. Just thinking about all of it, when I fall asleep, I don't know.
