CHAPTER 68

Ashford's gaze shifted from Matteo to Neon. Neon looked horrified upon hearing what the boy had told him.

"I am not ugly and dumb; stop calling me that."

The boy stuck his tongue out to Neon. "You are, and now that you have found your brother, I am going back to my home. My mother is going to kill me if she finds me here."

"Kill you?" Neon questioned.

Matteo gave Neon a confused look. "Not practically going to kill me; you see why I say you're dumb?"

Before Neon could answer, Matteo turned around and left, chanting the word.

"Mother, I met an ugly and dumb adult, an ugly and dumb adult."

"I'm not dumb!" Neon scoffed.

Matteo ignored him, and soon he was out of sight. Ashford pulled Neon in and slammed the door shut.

"You came here alone and messed with a little pup. How come you don't know where the pack house is?" Ashford questioned.

Neon ruffled his hair. "I totally forgot about it."

Ashford grinned. "Now I see why he is calling you ugly and dumb."
