CHAPTER 76

Phoebe bent over to the wolf and tried to stroke it, but it moved away from her touch. She had only told Griffin that she was in love with someone else, and the person wasn't him. She also told him that she had wanted to reject him because of the same person, and she would never let go of him.

Griffin approached her, acting on impulse to be with him. She had thrown the wolfbane grass at him; the poison had stuck to his hand and made him transform into a wolf.

He was in so much pain, and he couldn't let the one who had hurt him touch him. Regret washed through Phoebe's eyes and began to fill up. She had to do something to stop the pain, so she threw herself at the wolf and buried her head in the fur.

"Griffin, I am right here. Nothing would happen to you, and I am sorry for doing that to you. I didn't mean it; I was just paranoid."
