CHAPTER 111

RUBY’S POV

Sunday passed quickly and soon, it was Monday. That morning, I got up earlier than I usually did, dressed in something simple; a pair of jeans and a blouse.

Then I held my hair up in a high ponytail and took a bag big enough to take anything I would have to buy for my classes at the gallery.

Then I made my way to the living room and Clarissa was on the phone while she poured herself a glass of juice. Quietly, I took an apron and wore it over my clothes before I began to make breakfast for us.

Then I listened to her conversation and I could tell she was speaking to her waitress back at her cafe. I was guessing she did well with the sales while we were in New York because Clarissa didn't seem mad.

Soon she was done and I was slipping the last of the ingredients onto the slice of bread I was using to make a sandwich. Then she smiled at me before she joined me at the counter to see what I was up to.
