CHAPTER 10

LIAM'S POV

I buried my head in the files in front of me, trying to figure out one or two things at the same time.

Nothing has fallen in place ever since I brought that girl in here. She mentions she has no name and no family.

We do have something in common aside from the fact that I do have a name.

There is something in her that piques my interest. I have to figure it out soon enough before things get out of hand.

The Elders have been trying to get to the bottom of the bombshell. I have to ensure I tell no more lies, I'll just deal with the ones I spewed some days back.

My mind reminisces about the exposure of my presumed prey. Diverting to when Elder Elon's eyes roamed her body with lucid lust. Who doesn't see it? I guess the other Elders didn't.

I did well by lying. I know it isn't possible to have a second mate but my father once told me it was a rare fairytale. Their conversation, reference and scrutinization when I told them confirmed it.
