Chapter 3

“Elizabeth Crown?” Liam stood up and shook hands with the lady who just walked over to his table.

“Yes,” she replied with a small smile. She was wearing a black gown that exposed her cleavages, the slit on the gown was long up to her thighs. She didn't mind it.

When she got a call that Mr. Liam wanted to see her, she was the happiest, forgetting to ask the reason for such a meeting. Everyone knows Liam Payne, one of the richest bachelors in Cyprus.

“Please, sit,” Liam said to her as he took his seat as well. Since what happened that night at the hotel, he cannot help but still feel disturbed. He had dropped some cash for her that day, but he wasn't sure it helped.

He wanted to see her face-to-face and apologized genuinely and also helped her in any way he could. He just wanted a clear conscience, as it wasn't his fault that happened. He was told by his personal assistant that Elizabeth was the lady he had slept with.

“Order whatever you like” he urged her and Elizabeth nodded before she placed her order. Liam didn't order anything, as he was still disturbed. He just wanted to get this over with.

Immediately the waitress left, he quickly began,

“I'm so, so sorry… I know I have wronged you in the worst way possible,”

Elizabeth didn't know why he was apologizing or what he was apologizing for. All she did was stare, she wanted to know where he was coming from and why a multi-billionaire was apologizing to a poor wretched lady like her.

“That night at Explicit Hotel, I was drugged. I didn't know who had drugged me, but I swear, I wasn't myself. I tried to restrain myself, but couldn't. I didn't mean to, and I am so sorry that that had to happen'' he sighed. He wasn't a man of many words, but he wanted to take the guilt off his chest,

“Nothing I would do can ever cover up for my wrongdoings but please, I would like to compensate you. Allow me”

He prayed she agreed because he wanted to live peacefully without thinking he hurt a lady. He couldn't believe he had done that that night. He just didn't understand how the culprit who drugged his drink hadn't been caught yet.

“Please, Mr. Liam, don't do that to me. You're making me feel guilty” Elizabeth said with the sweetest voice ever.

It was after Liam's words that she understood what was going on. He thought she was Emma. He didn't even know who he slept with that night. How can he be that confused?

She didn't know if she should smile at the confusion or frown at it because she had never wanted to be mistaken for Emma. The girl was just so different and the total opposite of her.

“I am the one who is to feel guilt, Elizabeth, and not you. I know I had given you some cash that day, but that was nothing. I had invaded your privacy and took advantage of you. I am sorry, and I really want to fix things'',

“You really want to fix things?” Elizabeth asked as she eyed the man. Having such a rich man at her mercy was something she wanted to take advantage of not just once but more than.

Now, it wasn't so bad being Emma for a short while. She raised her chin after she thought it through, then said,

“Then, I would like to be your friend. If you don't mind, I mean”

Liam immediately nods at her word. Although he didn't have lots of friends around, if being her friend would take the guilt off his heart, then why not?

“Sure. Friends from now on,” he took her hand that she raised for a handshake and shook it.

Elizabeth bowed her head, and an evil smile appeared on her face. This was better than she thought. Her plan was to get Alex finally after getting rid of Emma, but who would have thought that the man she had set up to sleep with Emma was someone wealthier than Alex? Even more handsome, too.

Now, she was thinking of how to discard Alex for Liam. Who knows, Liam might fall in love with her and wish to marry her. All she needed to do now was think of a way to push Alex to the side so she could have Liam.

“You should please order something as well. I don't think I can eat if you aren't” she said to Liam when she saw the man typing away on his phone.

Because Liam was adamant about pleasing Elizabeth, he called for the waitress and ordered some food for himself.

While they were eating, Elizabeth finally asked what had been on her mind. She wondered if the man would agree to her request,

“I will be done with my course in a few months from now. I don't know if I can apply for a job at your company. I have always wanted to work at T&G tech” When she saw how Liam raised a brow at her, she quickly said,

“It's alright if you can't. I just wanted to try my luck” she let out a small chuckle, “It's just that I learnt tech because of your company. I have always loved T & G, the energy it gives is just outside this world,” she praised.

“No, no, I wasn't going to reject your request. What are friends for?”

Elizabeth smiled,

“Really?” She asked the man, who nodded,

“Yes, really. Actually, we will be needing some staff members in our company. I would ask my secretary to forward the job opportunities that are open as of now. Then you can pick any of them that you are good at. Consider yourself already an employee at T&G Tech. As for your course, if you can handle both, I won't mind you resuming work on Monday”

Elizabeth's eyes widened as she rushed from her seat to hug Liam,

“Thank you very much. Thank you so much,”

'This was real proof that I should let Alex go and make Liam fall madly in love with me. It can't be that hard since he feels he is indebted to me already,' Elizabeth thought with a smirk on her face.
