Scarlett's Story (6)

Hector is fidgeting in his seat, glancing to his side every now and then. Scarlett is sitting next to him and she’s pleasantly aware of his gaze on her. She smiles to herself and blushes.

“W-will you…” Hector begins. They’re at their Science class, working on a lab project together. Scarlett looks up and blinks at him.

“Yes?” She asks.

“W-will you be hanging out with my sister later this afternoon?” he asks nonchalantly. “I might join you guys.”

Ever since they started the project together, Hector has been finding excuses to meet up with Scarlett. Her reputation as a ‘mean’ girl doesn’t deter him and she’s relieved.

“I might,” Scarlett winks. Her heart is fluttering at the thought of being on a date alone with him. Hector is the coolest guy in school, athletic and smart.
