Dario Dante has been quiet since Serena revealed who her mother was. If this was a shock to me, I don’t even want to know how Dante must feel right now. I know the burning of the Muratori heirs was like a stain on Dante’s life - he killed all those responsible, but the damage was done. After this, his infamy as il Drago grew, and he was known as the most vicious mafia leader. I looked over at Serena; she sat with her hands in her lap and held Dante’s jacket close. We saved her from a gruesome fate tonight, but I doubt she felt very grateful right now. She had no one left, no soldiers or family, except us, and I had a feeling that she blamed me for her predicament. We enter the estate, and I notice her eyes widen at the massive gates - the sight of the mansion and grounds never fails to get this reaction. “Dario, take her up to her room and come back to my study,” Dante says as we exit the SUV. I nod, then grab her by her forearm, pulling her gently towards the door of our mansion.

Serena I watch him leave and almost call him back, but stop myself. It was my neediness that got me into this situation, my craving for him that led me here. Pregnant with the enemy’s child. Serena The door to my prison opens, and Dario steps inside. He looks over at the food tray, then at me before cocking his head towards the door. “Come. Dante wants to see you,” he says and waits for me to stand up. I walk over to him, and he grabs me by the forearm again. As we walk, I try to see if there is no way of escaping, but as far as I can tell this mansion was huge and felt more like a maze than a home. There’s no way out for now, so I stop looking around and follow Dario. We come to a stop outside of a large oak door, and Dario knocks three times before we step inside what looked like a study or an office. There were five people present already, four of them I already knew: Dante and Sienna, the middle brother Domenico and his traitor wife, Sylvana. Serena It’s been almost two weeks of living in constant anxiety. I don’t know what my old family is planning, but I know my Pappa well enough to realize that it will be bloody. Dante had a home doctor come in to check up on me and the baby. I’m one and a half months along, so anything could happen at this stage. Sienna and Sylvana seem to be keeping their distance from me since the meeting in Dante’s office, but they weren’t the only ones. I haven’t seen Dario since he left my bedroom that one night. Serena I'm still mulling over everything that has happened these last few days. My family was monsters; yes, I know how that sounds since I am also a mafia heir. However, I honestly thought they treated women better than men or at least respected them, but now I know how the men in my family really are. Dario Dante gives me a wink as I join them at the table. Nico was already fussing over the food; God, I had forgotten how this man could eat, especially now since he’s regaining the strength in his muscles. He was starting to take a few steps by himself, but we don’t want him to overdo it just yet. The way things are panning out, Nico would probably walk again by the end of the year. I realized the other day during training with him that he has become even more vicious than before. I suppose if you keep a dog chained up and starving all day, eventually, when it’s let loose, it will devour any enemy in its path. Hey, readers! Mafia's Vice will be coming to an end today, we only have about 3 more chapters to go! I would like to hear your opinions on the characters in this book. Who is your favourite? I know most of you have grown to love Sienna and all she went through at the start of her marriage and hated Dante in the beginning, but I must admit that I have a soft spot for il Drago ;) Let me know in the comments!
