Chapter 9: Sky - You're my mate
Jax shouted from downstairs, his voice laced with panic. Cassie answered back, but Jax must have not heard, as the panic in his voice became more evident with every shout. We quickly made our way downstairs. The moment Jax laid his eyes on Cassie, his body relaxed. He walked over to us and gave Cassie a hug.

When we got outside, I hooked my arm in Mark’s as he led me in the opposite direction of Jax’s house. I woke up slightly when I heard the door open, my senses on high alert even though I knew nothing could get through my protective spells without my knowledge. After breakfast I went over to the school to enroll Sky. Knowing that my mind persuasion worked on the head teacher, I was more relaxed this time. The sound of the back door slamming shut got my attention. Because of my protective barrier I knew it wasn’t an enemy, but one of us, but I thought I better check who it was. I had my suspicions.Mark marched towards me in an angry stance as I stepped into the living room. His breathing shallow, like he had been running and his muscles tensed. His face held a sour expression and if looks could kill, I would have been dead several times over by now.“Why did you agree to it?” he yelled as he invaded my personal space and glared right into my eyes.
