Chapter 58

Kiara pov

I quickly went behind Bryant. His grandmother was looking at me. I know she wanted to tear me into a million pieces and given the opportunity it shows that she was readily going to do it.

"You are scaring my wife, please can you leave?"

Suddenly it was as if his grandmother had aged another 20 years and the edge in her voice suddenly disappeared as she looked over to her grandson and spoke so softly that if I had not leaned forward I would have not been able to hear a single word that she said.

"Are you really defending that woman over me? Are you really going to be taking her side over your own grandmother?"

She was speaking as if she was going to burst into tears at any point in time, seeing that she was far too emotional to keep speaking I decided to just say what was on my mind and get it over with before there were any more interruptions.

"Bryant, I'm going to quit. I don't think that I will be a good secretary to you and I don't want to hold you back either…."
