The baby's cries grew louder and louder, and Kiara rocked her in her arms, intending to calm Acadia down a little. "Ssh, ssh, mommy is here, Cadia. Sleep again, sweetheart."

But she knew that once the baby was awake, it would be harder to get her back to sleep.

Dave stepped up to his Luna after signaling the others to just go ahead with the feast and pretending what had just happened never happened. But he had sent Daniel to tighten the guard, especially if there were still people like Arthur in the pack.

"My daughter is distracted, isn't she?" He spoke softly to Kiara, lowering his body slightly as if for Acadia to hear him. "Don't be afraid, little one; Dad already took care of that damn bastard, that damn rogue. He won't be able to harm you, I promise."

Locked in the dungeon, even though Dave didn't give any orders on what to do with Arthur other than lock him up, what the rogue had just said was enough to get him in big trouble.
