Charlotte’s POV

"No, I'm not sure..." I said softly between gasping breaths, and I couldn't stop thinking about who saved me from almost being shot by Miguel.

"It could have been Logan. We know that guy. He's keeping an eye on you, so he can do whatever he wants because he knows you're safe." Luca said this while driving and keeping his sharp eyes on the road.

"Why would he try to protect me? I had the feeling that he no longer wanted me. Just today, I found out that he was going out with my best friend. How could he treat me like this?" I breathed heavily, but my mind was mixed up with many complicated things.

My adoptive father, who brought me up in pain, came to kill me today, but he failed. I wonder if his sins are so bad that he might meet Satan now.

“Are you fucking kidding me? Of course, you’ll have to do something about that.” Luca sneered.

I nod my head, “Yes, I did. I tried to stop my best friend, and she believed in me.”

"You're right." He clapped his hands and pushed
