He stood in front of her as if he was the owner of her, commanding her body to stay rooted, even when he invaded her personal space and stood only a foot away.

While she swore, she was breaking a record, because she had never been like this for or with anyone before. She tried to punish herself, and break whatever spell he had cast on her. “Leave me alone," she demanded, surprised that he was like this with her when anyone could easily come into the room.

"Not until you talk to me." He said, and she quickly retorted. "I have nothing to say."

"Too bad for you." He said, his arm snaking around her waist, and he pushed his weight into her, knocking her off balance. Her eyes widened in fear, but her brain told her at the last minute that he wouldn’t let her fall, so she calmed down, only for them to tumble down together.

He held her close, as they tumbled on the soft rug that was laid in front of the counter, Alex landing on top of him while he took the brunt of the fall. "I'm not done
