New Changes

There was nothing Alex could do about Gabe now, especially since he had brought home two women, old and young, and with a child. He had brought them home last night, saying they were his guest and had to stay for a little period of time.

That was a new change she wasn’t expecting, and she hoped that he hadn’t brought them home because of her. Perhaps, he hoped that would help keep them both at arm's length.

She just thought that she would keep trying to get him to be with her, but now that people were staying with them, she didn’t know how that would work. She was in the kitchen making dinner for everyone when Gabe poked his head into the kitchen. “Hey, Alex. How are you?”

She looked over her shoulder at him and nodded. “I'm all right.” She said, purposefully avoiding his eyes or his mouth. As he walked into the kitchen and came to stand behind her, she walked away, getting out from in front of him to walk to the fridge.
