Arnold gave no reasonable reply before leaving me on the spot.

In deep thought, I strolled down the street hoping to see and get to talk to Ruby.

With my drooping head, I pushed open the tall gate of the clinic and made my entrance.

I was busy with my thoughts when I noticed the air around me changed and I can smell fear. I raised my head and searched the large territory with my eyes until they land on a pregnant she-wolf struggling to walk to the main door.

Her water broke and that must have sent her on edge. I hurried to the door to help her stand and opened the door.

She lifted her brows in surprise, her eyes flooded with tears and her face so pale and out of blood.

“Oh my goodness… you don’t look good” I said in concern.

She burst into tears “Please just help me inside” she sobbed as she groaned in pain when I helped her climb the porch.

I can feel how much she’s in pain and I don’t know why. She’s weak, scared, and malnourished.
