All eyes fell on me. There were different reactions on their faces. I had the strong urge to disappear into thin air and never return. The visitor had stopped crying and was staring at me with eyes that pinned accusation on me.

The tension in the air doubled and I parted my lips to say something, especially when I saw the curiosity in Jared's eyes. The last thing I wanted was for my mate to have more reasons to doubt me. But, before I could speak, someone beat me to it.

"Hey! Are you talking about that tiny young lady standing there? I think you've got the wrong person. She is Beta Jared's mate. She doesn't seem to be the type that can hurt a fly. Kill another person? I don't think so. You've got the wrong person" the young man who had just spoken was familiar.
