Grief hung heavy in the air. Apart from Rylee, Baron's closest acquaintances and family members, Iris, Nia, Gregor and I were gathered at the funeral site to pay our respects. Baron had been poisoned. According to his beta, he had kept his symptoms to himself. He had suddenly gotten worse and before anyone could do anything about it, he had passed away. Baron had been the head of Belmore Werewolf Council and now that he was no more, the tension was bigger than ever.

"Isn't it strange?" Rylee who was standing by my side, whispered. She looked perturbed.

"I think his death was planned. Did he know about Killian's plan?" She asked and I frowned. While I thought about it, I realized that she had a point. Baron was the only member of the council who knew what was really going on.

"C'mon. Let's go home. We shouldn't stay here any longer than we have to," I said to her. Together, we walked to the car and started to head home.

"I'm sure it's a part of Killian's strategy. He made t
