"Tell me I've misheard everything. Tell me it's all a lie" Ava croaked, her cheeks glistening with tears. My heart rate had quickened and my knees were losing their strength. I was like a deer caught in headlights. I couldn't think. Scratch that. My mind was flooded with multitude of thoughts. Such that, neither of them made any sense to me.

"Andrea, say something!" Ava cried. I parted my lips to say something but the words refused to come out.

Her knees gave out first. Few seconds later, mine did.

We knelt there in the garden, tears running down our faces. I couldn't look her in the eye. I felt ashamed of myself.

"I'm sorry" I croaked.

"You're sorry?" Ava snarled, her eyes reflecting the rage she was feeling.

"You came here to ruin our pack. You're an assassin. If Jared wasn't your mate, you would have tried to take my brother down. You disgust me! And here I was, thinking that I could be your friend" she spat every word with venom. It was okay though. I knew I deserved
