“I didn't expect you to notice that I was missing” My shoulders flinched visibly as Jordan’s voice sounded in my ear. It was a little closer to be than I would have liked and the sight of him sitting so close to me put me on some sort of edge.

I closed my eyes, trying to compose my emotions. Somehow being around them made my tummy twist into a bundle of knots. It made me feel a certain kind of way that I didn't exactly know how to put into words. Maybe it was the way they both looked at me. Like they both wanted to pounce on me.

Like I was the prey and they were the predator. I needed to get away from both of them. I didn't think that the proximity was going to affect me this much. Except I couldn't abruptly stand up and hurry to the other side of the room. I wanted more than anything to do it but at the same time. I didn't want to draw unnecessary attention.
