LORRAINE

I felt the painful collision of the wall against my back but then I forced my face not to give it away. The last thing that I was going to show was how intimidated I was by her. I closed my eyes for a minute or at least just long enough for me to gather composure.

I knew that I was going to be very upset with myself if I cried. If I cried, it would be admitting to myself that Lisa had some sort of power over me and I wasn't ready to admit it to myself yet.

“What the hell do you want Lisa?” I huffed. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep the irritation away from my voice. In the space of a second, I could have sworn that I saw surprise flash through her eyes. I blinked again and it was gone.

“So you can speak for a moment, I was worried that your nonexistent brain cells wouldn't be able to comprehend what I'm about to say” she growled, I could have almost sworn that I saw a flash of her canines. A tremor passed through me and all I wanted to do was get the hell away from her
