I awoke to the constant splattering of raindrops. A gloomy morning has its own magic. The grey clouds were barely hiding the nascent rays of the sun that were only gracing the horizon. The muted sound of rain against my closed window gave me a sense of tranquillity and nostalgia for a moment that had long ago passed.I checked the time and saw that it was still thirty minutes till daybreak. And then I had the finest idea. Looking through my wardrobe, I found a white chiffon shawl. I wrapped it over my shoulders, covering my bare neck and arms. I was dressed in my nightgown, a cotton garment that barely reached my knees. The bodice had thin straps that ended just below my bust. “I am leaving tonight. I came to say goodbye.” A smile was on his face when he said, a smile that hardly reached his eyes. And I-I felt as though someone knocked the air out of me.“Y-you are leaving tonight?”“My father left this afternoon, and all the arrangements are made.” He said and stepped back. “Be safe and take care of yourselves.” He paused as I stared at him unable to say anything.“Goodbye.” He turned around and walked away. I was crouched behind a thick pine tree, my eyes scanning the forest for any sign of movement. My grip on my bow and arrow tightened, feeling the tension in my muscles and the adrenaline in my veins. Something in me had stirred up and changed after yesterday. I can’t bring myself to remember what had happened after I found him and had run into his arms. But something inside me wants to hold on to him. To the feeling and to the fate and bond that binds him with me.I had been tracking a deer for half an hour, following its hoofprints and scent. “You know, I hadn’t expected you to show up in the hunt.” I shook my head as Anxo sat down on my bed. It has been a few hours since Anxo brought me back into my room. The hunt has been finished a while ago, and from what I heard from him and Vesna, only a few females were successful in hunting. While comparing to them, I might have stood out a little. Well, a lot. I awoke feeling rejuvenated and energised. I haven't felt better in days. I dressed and headed out to the garden. In this harsh world, this is where I most like to be. The scent of the soil, the sound of the birds, and the sight of the beautiful flowers all drew me. I grabbed my tools and got to work. I weeded the beds, watered the lilies, and clipped the roses. As I worked, I hummed a song. This morning was serene, and my heart felt at ease for the first time in a long time. When I looked up, the sun was shining brightly. The square neckline of the dress ended just on the valley of my breasts. The sleeves reached my wrists that had two gorgeous laces embodied on them. The bodice reached my under bust and a matching lace completed the fitted bodice. The rest of the dress flowed down reaching my ankles.
