Chapter 98

Amelia's POV

I rushed out of Alpha Waylen's chamber, I could feel my heart racing and my palms becoming sweaty. I quickly pressed my back against the wall, trying to steady my breathing.

I had expected Alpha Waylen to come after me when I rushed out of the room, and tried to convince me further, but he didn't and that was totally fine with me.

I stood there, my mind twisting and turning and trying to make sense of everything he had just told me. I totally understood everything from his point of view, but marrying him was something that felt too much and I wondered to myself if my reaction to his proposal would have been different if he didn't pin it to what was happening with Alpha Chad and Kayden.

It was so easy to use circumstances as an excuse to get what you want and I felt like that was what he was doing.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath willing my nerves to calm. I couldn't stay here, not with Alpha Waylen's words still playing through my mind and with the possibility
