Seventy six.

Irina’s POV

I was knocked over by his scent. It wasn’t just how he knocked me to the ground but as his wolf pressed against me, holding me down to the ground, I could smell him and every fibre of my being was responding to his touch, whether he was wolf or human, I knew we belonged together.

“Damien?” his teeth let go of my wrist as I say his name.

“Keep quiet” he links me, an urgency in his voice to keep my own hushed.

I lay still and in silence, basking in his touch and I knew he wanted it as much as I did. Instead of speaking out loud I link him, “What are you doing?”

“Trying to hide your scent from Ivan”

I remain silent, listening to the movement between the trees and trying to ignore the rustling of leaves. Since having my ears cut, sound was different, stronger and I was able to pick out certain sounds if I paid close enough attention. Ivan wasn’t far from us, his scent
