"What's going on?" Ethan asked, putting down his pen and looking up at us. But she stayed his glance at Penelope.

It seems that the mansion was not affected by the storm when I could see no damage around. From the way I see it, even Ethan was unaware of the incident.

"We were attacked by another witch earlier at school," Penelope said, her voice urgent.

Ethan moved out of his seat and slid closer to us. "What kind of witch?" he asked, his brow furrowed.

Penelope and I exchanged a worried glance before telling Ethan all about the devil witch who had given us the mission of protecting Hunter Grey. Of all the people we must protect could have been a werewolf hunter whose aim is to put our kind to extinction.

Let alone the one who killed Penelope.

"We don't know what she's planning to do, but she said she's not the enemy," I said. "She wants us to protect Hunter Grey by all means necessary."

Ethan suddenly scoffed. "And you guys believed in her?"
