The Beggar

As soon as we reached the field, Penelope and I looked at each other, concerned. We knew must talk to our alpha and convince him about dropping off his shoot-to-kill order on Hunter Grey.

"Alpha Romulo," I said, "we need to talk about this order. Is there a chance we could capture Grey instead?"

"I don't think so," Alpha Romulo replied sternly. "He's been a threat for too long, and we need to take him out before he can cause any more harm."

"But what if we're wrong?" Penelope added. "What if he's not actually the threat we think he is?" she then glanced at Ethan, but his expression did not change a bit as if he was ignoring us.

Alpha Romulo looked at us, his face hardening. "I've made my decision," he said firmly. "And I expect you both to follow orders."

Penelope and I exchanged a worried glance before nodding silently. As we left the field, we could not help but feel uneasy about the whole situation. We knew I must do something, but I wasn't sure what.
