MOVING ON

Audrey’s Pov.

My eyes fluttered open gently, feeling all sore and tired. I swallowed deeply, closing my eyes and reopening it to stretch on the bed. A yawn escaped my lips as i stood up, stretching out again before sitting still on the bed. Everything came running down in my brain again, how he walked in, his words, his eyes, everything that happened before I cried myself in Alaric’s arms and slept off.

“Stop!” I yelled out, closing my eyes, and using my hand to block it as the light came on.

“You’re finally awake, Princess. I thought you’ve already turned sleeping beauty.” His voice softly said.

I opened my eyes again, slowly and trying to balance it with the light. My eyes went to him and met his immediately. He passed me a small smile, looking at me with nothing but pity and a softness I did not like. “How long have you been sitting there?” I asked, stifling a yawn from my mouth.

“Long enough to watch all your sleeping positions while sleeping. For a princess, you need to honestly
