Chapter Forty-eight

Leila's POV

I wondered why Xavier had become distant over the past few weeks. I barely saw him eye to eye. He left before I woke up and he came to bed after I had slept off. My eyes were tired but I wasn't going to close them. I would wait for him to come back from the office. I wanted to talk to him. To know what exactly the problem was.

My eyes hurt but I had to keep it open but I guess I didn't have that much power to fight nature. My eyes shut within minutes.

Hours later when I awoke, I stretched my hand to his side of the bed and it was cold indicating that he didn't sleep here. The fourth time in a row. Each time I ask Liam, he tells me that Xavier had been busy with the pack activities. He was too busy to make out a minute of his time to see his... At this point, I realized that I didn't know what I was to him. Was he really too busy or he had become too tired of me and had decided to move to the next chic.

My heart raced and I feared that it was the latter
