Chapter forty seven

Miranda's POV

"I promise to talk to her Carla, please." I tried to reason with the raging woman on the other end of the phone.

"Patrick is so unhappy and you know how much he loves her. Please talk to her, I don't want my son to do anything crazy." Carla wailed.

"Don't worry, they would be back together in no time." I assured her.

The line went dead and a hot breath escaped my nostrils. Dad glared at me with those stiff eyes of his that would snuff confidence out of anyone. The phone had been placed on speaker for him to hear.

"And what is this I am hearing? Why the hell is Alessia misbehaving?" He bellowed in his bass voice.

It had fearful shivers running down my spine. I don't think I would ever get used to hearing dad's angry tone. The fear of Gregory Winters is sure the beginning of wisdom.

I inhaled, "I don't know yet dad. They are teenagers, probably they got into a small argument. It would sort itself in no time."

"It had better sort itself. If not you know what that means.
