Alpha Alex's POV

After departing from the Hamattain Pack, I found it increasingly difficult to sleep at night as my thoughts constantly gravitated towards Alicia and the time we had spent together.

"Why did it have to be Ramirez?" I pondered silently while seated on my throne, my senses dulled by the wine I had consumed.

"Bring me another glass of wine!" I commanded the maid standing nearby, who had become particularly irksome to me. I had noticed that my temper flared more easily than usual, leading me to lash out at my werewolf soldiers whenever anger overcame me. It felt as though an insatiable void had taken root within me.

"Can't you hear me, or are you deaf?" I lashed out at the maid, who bowed her head while trembling in place. Since Alicia's departure, I had grown markedly more ruthless and aggressive than during my time with her.
