Chapter Twenty Three

"Call me once you land, okay?" I said for the hundredth time as we walked towards the boarding gate at the airport.

"Of course, baby and you stay safe. I'll be home by this time tomorrow." He smiled and cupped my cheeks, planting a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Okay, good luck with the investors." I let out a soft sigh and hugged him tightly. I had no idea why I was feeling so sad. I mean, he was going to be back tomorrow and I was behaving like a love-sick puppy.

"I love you," I whispered, against his shoulders and he let out a loud groan.

"God, you are making this hard for me. Pun intended." He chuckled, lighting up the mood and kiss me softly. I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck and he lifted me off my feet lightly.
