Chapter 21

Arriving at Melissa's mansion in his black SUV, David gets down, handing over his keys to one of the valets as he walks into the mansion. He is dressed in an expensive black suit and holds a briefcase in his right hand.

David's POV~

The house was relatively quiet when I got in. Where was everybody? While loosening my tie, I walked straight through the guest living room. I walked into the first living room.

"Babe?" I called as I slightly opened the door leading to the first living room. She wasn't there. "Hmmm, that's odd," I muttered. This was where she usually would be if she stayed at home. Perhaps she's in the other living room.

"Babe?" I called again, as I twisted the doorknob leading to the second living room. She wasn't there either. "Then she's gotta be in her room" I thought as I headed straight there, climbing up the stairs to get there.

Getting there, I pushed the door open only to see her on the bed, watching TV. My eyes rolled almost totally subconsciously as I stared a
