Chapter 7.1: Mommy hunt

After playing for a few hours with Leah while Jeremy fled to work, Jake finally carried the little lady to the backyard along with a huge canvas and dozens of paint tubes and brushes. He put on a six-year-old white t-shirt that had long since been covered in paint on Leah and wrapped a belt around her waist tuning the t-shirt into a long dress. A small blank canvas was put in front of her, a brush in her hand, Leah furrowed her brows in concentration and started to make a mess on the blank canvas.

Seeing her occupied like that, Jake smiled and turned his focus to his own canvas. The painting wasn't even halfway done, but he had already hit a wall and couldn't finish the painting no matter what.

That was the case two days ago. Today though, it was different. Jake put on some music on his phone, the song Riptide by Grandson blasted in full volume as he sang along.

"I get high to leave all these problems on the ground

Then to my surprise, they're right there when I come back down
