Chapter 28: Phone call

"Is that so?" My mother said, looking at me with eyes filled with no emotions. My small heart was beating fast, as if I'm being chased by a beast. There was silence in the air, not until it was broken down the moment my mother yawned. Ophelia stretched her arms, and said in a sleepy voice, "Anyway! Let's leave the matter for another day. I'm quite tired."

I nodded, and said as I scratched the back of my neck, "Okay mom. Good night…" My mother went towards the guest room, and before she could close the door shut, she bid me, "sweet dreams," with that innocent smile of hers.

I immediately went to another separate room, and locked the doors shut. "I can't guarantee my safety even in my house.. gees.. the only place where safety is within is.. when he's there." All of the sudden, my face blushes red. I was embarrassed now that he's in my mind.

"I can't believe this.. what exactly have I said?" I slapped my cheeks. Now that he's on my mind, it's hard to get him out of it.
