JONAS’S POV

Breathless and panting heavily, I bolted into my room, the door slamming shut behind me. My heart raced, pounding against my ribcage with the ferocity of a caged beast. The encounter with Asher had been dangerously close, too deadly to be dismissed lightly.

I leaned against the cool wood, attempting to steady my breath and calm the storm raging within me. The memory of Asher’s strong and unyielding hands still lingered on my neck, serving as a reminder of my narrow escape from death’s door. I knew I had to think and devise a plan.

As I paced the length of my room, my mind raced, each step a silent vow to disentangle myself from Lisa’s life. It was the only only path to escape Asher’s newfound wrath. The Bonnet brothers, those despicable traitors, had sealed my fate when they revealed the truth about Lisa’s identity.
