Mummy was back and looking quite better than when she left. I picked her up from the airport where she had landed about two minutes ago, and she seemed happy to see me.

"Mum..."I hurried to her side and hugged her passionately.

"I thought you weren't going to come back."

"What? Why? Why would you think that?"

I shrugged when we pulled apart, "you must have felt really hurt at the betrayal and probably didn't want to be around him again"

"I still love him though, and I'm willing to give him a second chance."

"Really?"

She nodded and I smiled.

We got into my car in the parking lot and started the ride home to the house. "What have you been up to?" She asked.

"Nothing much, just business and that's all."

"What of that lady?"

"Who?" I knew who she was talking about, of course.

"The lady you brought to dinner, Layla or..."

"Yeah Layla, she's good."

"I noticed the way you were looking at her throughout the dinner. You can lie to yourself, but you can't lie to me that you love her."
