Chance’s POV

There was no doubt after meeting Willow’s mother why she was so broken when she came here. The woman should have never been able to reproduce if this was the way she treated her only child. Willow was an intelligent, strong woman and I wondered where she had gotten this from because it definitely wasn’t from her mother. I had to wonder how she survived for as long as she had under a roof with this woman.

I had told Willow that I would see her mother to the guest house and she should stay at the packhouse. Thankfully, Willow didn’t put up a fight and I was happy she didn’t because once I got her mother to the guest house I planned on having her tell me everything she knew about Willow’s father one way or another.

“Where are you taking me?” She asked as I walked her out of the house and to my vehicle.
