I was torn from sleep with a sharp pain in my shin.

My mind felt groggy, clearly a byproduct of not enough sleep. Kai stayed with Emma last night as long as he could, but I did not want her to wake up to a naked Alpha in her bed. I figured Emma probably would not be too keen on that.
