Chapter Sixty

The day of reckoning has come. I will stand in front of the King and the elders of my people and be judged. Now the King knows that nearly everyone he has called to determine my guilt is in one way or another, just as guilty as I am. I wonder what he will do. Will he let the corrupt trial continue as planned or take things into his own hands. I ponder the thought while I look around the room he moved me to after my revelations yesterday afternoon. It is nothing like the comfort I am used to but considering I have spent the last few days chained to the wall like a dog and laying in my own filth, this is actually very pleasant. The small bed is clean and comfortable and the small table and chair in the corner provides somewhere for me to sit and write my final will and testament, just in case things don’t go my way. Not that I have much left to leave for anyone and even if I did, who would I leave it to. I have no one and everything was Miriams.
