“So you’re here uhn, acting all like a savior,” Elena said, still drunken as Matthew carried her.
He saw Silver walking towards them, her expression serious more than his mother’s.“I’ll take her home. You can please help me drop Sarah home. Thank you.” He said, walking past her without waiting for her reply. If he waited for her reply, he would hear excuses for her offering to take Elena, and for some reason, he didn’t want that. He opened the door of the party, noticing their surrounding was dark already before approaching his car. Placing her carefully on the backseat, he closed the door and walked to his seat, starting the car and rolling down all the windows. He zoomed out and started driving, his thoughts going to the day he found her drunk at the bar. This was exactly what he did, apart from the fact she kept muttering incorrigible nonsense which made him angry, blaming herself why she hadn’t seen the sign that Jeremy didn’t like her, aElena woke up the next morning, a banging headache and a sore body. She fluttered her eyes repeatedly before standing up. “Where am I?” She yawned and glanced around, hissing when she finally got it. She looked at the other side of the bed and saw an empty bed. Matthew must have slept beside her, given how those parts were ruffled but had woken up. Her eyes went to his clock, widening as she saw the time. Her mother was going to kill her. She stood up immediately, and she groaned out at the back ache she was having. “Where are you rushing to?” She heard his voice, but ignored it, going down on her knees as she searched under her bed for her sneakers. “I called her last night and told her you are with me. So don’t fret.” He retorted as her heart stopped, looking at him immediately. “My head aches, and my body.” She cried out. Matthew eyed her before walking towards her, passing her the cup he was holding.
“Wooh!!!!!” Elena yelled out, her head out of the window and her hair blowing all over the cool breeze.“I missed this so badly!” She yelled again, making Matthew curve his lips as he increased the speed. They had their particular route, it was always deserted, and it gave them the opportunity to drive as they wish. Loud music blared from the car as Elena got the half of her body back in, rolling the glass back up and turning on the air conditioner.“You were laughing so happily when you came out of the house. What was your mum saying? Is it about me?” She asked. She turned towards the back, grunting as she tried to open the bag they packed snacks and other things too.“What are you looking for?”“A brush, I need to brush my hair back and look like a normal and decent person back.”Matthew glanced at her hair, apart from the ruffling that made it look a little rough, there was nothing bad about it.“It’s fine. You don’t need to comb it, and even if you do, your head would be back outs
After some minutes of resting and munching on snacks, Elena was tired and decided it was time for them to continue, but this time she sat at the backseat, laid down and soon enough, she was fast asleep. Matthew had no choice but to keep on driving, but this time his head was full of thoughts. Why was it so hard for her to see it? Why does she keep pushing every other lady to him and for her to see it, it was very hard for her?Or maybe she was just pretending, trying not to give him the hope that he might have a chance, and protecting him from not telling him he might not have a chance. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he rolled down his window, allowing the chill breeze to rush in. He knew Sarah likes him, and he knew he was treating her badly by allowing her to think she had a chance. But life was not fair, and that was the same way the person he likes treated him.Everyone needed each other, if he couldn’t get her, at least he had someone he could always talk to. He remembered duri
“We’re there.” Matthew said to Elena as he killed the car engine and got out.It was some minutes towards six o clock in the evening and they were just arriving at the party Matthew wanted to bring her to.“Remember…”“No drinking and no moving out of sight. I get it, that’s why you brought the pineapple juice.” Elena cut him off, rolling her eyes and getting out of the car.Matthew opened the back seat, rummaging through the stuff they’ve brought and bringing out a bottle. He locked the car by pressing the keypad and threw the bottle to Elena. She caught it just in time as her eyes widened with a smile,“Are you changing your mind?” She said and walked towards him, nudging him by the shoulder.“Nope. It’s still pineapple juice. I want you to be sober. We still have a long way to go.”Elena rolled her eyes, looking at the bottle in her hand with anger before hissing out.“Let’s get this over with. I want to go home.” She muttered under her breath. She walked past Matthew and towards t
Elena sprung up the bed immediately, rushing down and picking the bra from the floor. Her cheeks were reddened already out of embarrassment, and her gaze avoided Matthew as she picked all the clothes back inside the bag they had brought.“Were you rushing to sleep?” She heard him ask, pretending not to hear as she dumped the bag back to the table, her charger in her hands and jumped back on the bed.She picked up her phone again, this time since she’s been caught, plugging her charger into the socket and returning to the movie she had once abandoned. Matter lips curled into a smile as he picked his shorts and the singlet he came out to pick, returning to the bathroom to change.Elena huffed out as he left. She didn’t want them to do their ritual thing that they always do whenever they come to the hotel. She just wanted to pretend she was asleep. He’ll not disturb her but now she’s been caught and they were going to do it.“Go and shower. We had a long day for you to take that dirty bo
The night went well for both Matthew and Elena after their little moment, Elena getting out of the shower and dressing up while they hung the clothes they got wet. They both settled for a movie, eventually clearing up the awkward silence between them. By the time they were halfway into the movie, Elena was fast asleep on Matthew’s arm while he was dozing already. They woke up very early this morning to meet up with getting home and school also.“Elena, get up! We have to be fast!” Matthew said as he tapped her up.He has packed every one of their things and just needed Elena to wake up and follow him into the car. After a while of trying to wake her without answering him, he proceeded to carry her, backing the bag they brought before throwing her over his shoulder.“What! Where am I! Drop me down this instant!” She started to yell out, making his drowsy and sleepy self leave before landing her feet back to the ground.“Good morning.” The hotel attendant greeted as they walked past her
The rest of the day passed in a blue for Elena, trying to complete the rest of the car and survive to the end, and not trying to think much into Sarah’s words. A part of her didn’t want her to do it, skeptical and also scared at the same time. What if Matthew says yes to her and they start dating? She’ll have to stick and this time not disturb them for whatsoever reason. She didn’t think she wanted to do that yet. “Do you want Silver to give you a ride? I'm having my practice today and I can’t. I’m so sorry.” Craig said as she got out of the class, picking her cheeks in a hurry before running off.“Let’s go, I’ll give you a ride.” She heard Matthew say, looking at her back as her face broke into a tired smile. Matthew hung his arm around her shoulder as they walked together towards the parking lot.“So I heard, you and Sarah are friends again and discussing other things, clearing the air.” He started,“Yeah.Don’t you want us to be friends?”“Nope.” Matthew hurriedly replied, “I’m ju
“Elena, can I have a word with you?” She heard her mum call out as she walked into the kitchen the same eveningsHow she got into the house was a haze but she was sure it couldn’t be more than Matthew’s work. “I’m coming Ma.” She replied, groaning out in pain and her eyes acting like it didn’t want to open.“Ma, I’m so tired. My head is aching and my whole body hurts.” She added, opening some of the pots as she tried to find something to eat.“I bought pizza. It’s here. I’ll try to cook something after we talk.“Let’s do it together. You cook and we talk, I’ll stay with you for a little while." Elena replied as she walked towards the living room.Clara was there, seated on the couch and her eyes focused on the television. One of the pizza slices was in her hand, already munched to half.“I’m all ears.” Elena plopped down to the sofa after carrying a whole box of the pizza. Clara turned to face her after a while, turning off the television and looking at her daughter’s face.“How is
