CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

There was a deafening silence that enveloped the chamber. Morrigan and Colfre remained sitting by the bed, their hands now intertwined. No one remembers how their hands eventually got intertwined or who took the hand of the other first but it was a comfortable silence they share. Morrigan looks at her reflection in the vanity. Her eyes gazing at Colfre who was unexpectedly watching her through their reflection in the mirror. She smiled timidly. She heaved a sigh and averted her gaze, looking at the canopy of her bed.  

"Then the rest is history. Ever since that day, there was a void that grows inside of me. Every night it felt like the voices of the people I killed haunts me. Every night I wake up just to find myself in the middle of this room, alone in the darkness. I may have avenged myself and my family but I also lost everything in the process."
