Morrigan hissed as she shifted her aching body. She groans and moans in pain as she tried to lift herself. Everything in her body feels sore, and even lifting a finger is tiring for her. The feeling of her bones being broken a thousand times lingering in her body. Even with her aching body, she tried to endure it for when she woke up one thing comes into her mind. Morrigan slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes still blurring, adjusting to the light around her. The sun outside slowly setting. The orange and crimson hues in a spectacular blend of colors, creating perfect scenic colors reminding her of autumn. The voices around her are muffled. She groaned in pain for another time alarming the maids around her. The maids that are all alerted in her sudden shift all turned their heads towards her. The maids hurriedly hoisted their skirts towards her bed.
"Your Highness..." Their voices are synchronously calling her name, giving Morrigan a headache as their voices
The dawn approaches a new beginning. It's the day for Morrigan's new chapter to unravel. Her eyes gaze at the whole kingdom from the highest peak of the palace. Drowning herself to the scenery her motherland offers her. Watching as far as to where her eyes could stretch. Beyond the palace walls. Beyond from the divider she has between the common people and hers. She watches as the new day for the citizens of Hymir greets them. The warmth of the sun slowly caressing the cold skins of the citizens below her as they started to flock the streets. The streets below her are adorned with colorful banners, people walk close to the gates of the palace offering flowers, if not prayers for the princess. For the future of the country, and prosperity as a new queen is now to be crowned. Some people and musicians singing folklore about the country to celebrate a new reign that will begin on that day. It was festive, full of life. Unlike the eyes of the crown princess who was watching them from af
The angelic voices of the children in the choir echo around the cathedral hall of the palace. Singing a beautiful song about the history of the kingdom. Everyone's eyes are watching the new queen as she walks the aisle towards the altar where a throne was set for her to sit. Everyone is in awe as they watch Morrigan gracing the long aisle. Dressed in fine garments of sophisticated colors of red and black, with a purple train stretching to her back. The colors of royalty in the kingdom of Hymir. Her beauty had always been envied and praised by the people, especially of the ladies her age. Morrigan's face is unparalleled in that she had been seen to be the incarnation of a deity. She is born to be a royal and the queen of the kingdom. And as she walks now as the new queen of the kingdom their eyes are all unto her. Watching her intently with nothing but respect. They all look at her with reverence and adoration. Looking at her as if she was Fiachra, hersel
There was a deafening silence that enveloped the chamber. Morrigan and Colfre remained sitting by the bed, their hands now intertwined. No one remembers how their hands eventually got intertwined or who took the hand of the other first but it was a comfortable silence they share. Morrigan looks at her reflection in the vanity. Her eyes gazing at Colfre who was unexpectedly watching her through their reflection in the mirror. She smiled timidly. She heaved a sigh and averted her gaze, looking at the canopy of her bed. "Then the rest is history. Ever since that day, there was a void that grows inside of me. Every night it felt like the voices of the people I killed haunts me. Every night I wake up just to find myself in the middle of this room, alone in the darkness. I may have avenged myself and my family but I also lost everything in the process." Morrigan's hand tightened around Colfre's hand. Her beautiful eyes brimmed with tears. Colfre gazed at
Colfre's skin glistened as the soft glow of the moonlight from outside shone on his toned body. Shutting his eyes tightly as his already tensed muscles contract and relax with every deep breath he takes. Frustration and guilt are evident in every sigh. Scars from military training are visible on his broad shoulders and muscular back, from small cuts to deep slashes that are all now fading away from his skin. The skin on his neck down flushed with crimson colors. All his senses are still feverish as the picture of the woman in his arms lingers at the back of his mind. Even with half of his body dipped in cold water the ardent sensation of kissing Morrigan hanged around his system. Feeling her petite body against his body, and her soft moans like music in his ears. All of those things played in his mind vividly. He runs his hand on his ginger hair exasperatedly. Heaving a deep sigh as he rests his head by the side of the tub, with his arms propped by the side of the tub. His shoulder
Morrigan shut her eyes tightly trying to keep her composure as the giggles and chuckles of the pair in the corner echoes in her ears. Trying to bury the thoughts of the scene that she had witnessed earlier. Telling herself that it was all an illusion and once she snapped out of it everything will go back to how it used to be. But why does she ache like this? She felt like her heart is being wrung out of blood, being pierced of thousand needles, and being sliced into thousand cuts. But at the same time, it felt like it was being shattered into a thousand pieces till it was nothing but specks of dust. She feels like she was making a fool of herself for taking things out of context. For putting too much hope in a single kiss. Of course, he would have a lover. There would always be a person that had caught his attention before her. There will always be someone who comes first in his heart. Why would she assume that the kiss means anything between them? It might be
The dusk approaches and the colors of the sky are marvelous mixtures of hues of crimson and azure. Creating a scenic landscape that is commonly seen in paintings by great painters in the kingdom. Morrigan watches as the sun sets the horizon, the golden rays of the day bidding its temporary goodbye as the beauty of the silent darkness welcomes their rest. Lanterns and store lights flickering by the streets illuminating the pathways as the citizens of Hymir slowly dispersing to their homes. Finally resting after a long day of work. She watches the beauty of the setting sun and the slow darkness that revealed the shimmering glows of the stars in the sky. Slowly counting it till she lost count of the stars above her and could only appreciate the marvel of it as their shine and leave her in awe. Their beauty gracing the land of Hymir along with the moon's soft glow. Morrigan and Colfre parted ways earlier than usual. With cold and silence between them unsettled. Mo
A sweet voice resounded through the silent and dark hallway of the guards' quarters. A song about the love of Fiachra and the first king of Hymir portrayed in a beautiful melody that could only send a wrenching surge of emotions to one's heart. Portraying the tragic love story of Fiachra and the king for their love for the kingdom is a lot more powerful than their desire to stay with each other. That the interest of the kingdom is greater than their best interest for each other. Their love story is admirable and at the same time painful. Admirable that they could sacrifice too much for their country and its citizen but at the same time painful for it tells Fiachra's sacrifice for Hymir. Telling the tragic end for the couple who missed the perfect chance to be together. Missing each other and could only wish that their romance that was put to a halt will continue to their next lives. Mor
The warmth of the morning touches Colfre's back, with half of his body covered with duvet and his back covered with fresh bandages and a tunic laid on his back. Beside him were a basin of clean water and a clean towel. With a freshly cooked breakfast laid beside it. A bell was placed near him for if he needed help he could only ring it and a guard will come inside to his aid. Morrigan left before the sun even rose, making sure that when Colfre woke up he would be set and the things he needed will be prepared for him. She didn't leave his side till his fever subsided. And when she left his chamber the guards who are already starting to go on their rounds and posts were all taken aback with the queen leaving his chamber early in the morning. But no one dared to open their mouths. She ordered that whatever Colfre needs they must oblige and they must report to her what he did for the whole day. Colfre wakes up with Morrigan gone by his side. Her scent lingered on
