Chapter 27
Everything was coming together, Everything was starting to make sense, and slowly Grace felt she was getting back together too. Her mother's ear to ear smile was enough proof that she was okay, That they were okay too.
"I'm happy Mum," Grace chuckled "I really am". She pulled her mother in for another hug while she ran her hands over her back gently.
"I am too, We will be fine Grace, I promise''. Eliene pulled away, before kissing her forehead gently. Grace Gave her mother a toothy smile, While she returned it too.
Beep...
The sound of a notification on her phone snapped her out of her daze, She bent to reach for it, while her mum proceeded to take care of the kitchen.
Grace tapped the phone awake, she looked at it to see it was a missed call from Jason, She tapped the number calling him back.
What could be the problem..

"We're here". It was a wake-up call from Jason , She looked around noticing they had stopped moving and were parked close to an ice cream truck that was situated at the other side of the road. The ride back home was silent, only the sounds of engines and people's chatter as they drove along could be heard. Another distraction was the brown paper file that Grace held tightly between her arms . Grace had refused to speak about it or even speak at all. And Jason respected that . The ride ended fast, faster than they both expected, Especially Grace who was brought back to her senses when she felt that they weren't in motion anymore. Hello Brother". Said a blonde hair lady dressed in milky white gown with a frown on her face. She got up from her seating position on the black sofa, taking catwalks to meet a pissed Leonard. "Hi brother, sorry for the surprise visit." Another lady said, with a black hair, casually dressed in jeans and a tee, a scared look on her face, he gave her a small smile watching her breath in, a bit calmer. Grace stared at the objects scattered on the bed, she sighed unhappy. The brown file was empty so she set it aside while she stared at other contents that laid on her bed. She picked the one closest to her it was a white paper with her name written boldly on it. 'Appointment letter to work as an intern to Miranda Smart'. It read. Grace took a deep breath then she set it back down on the bed, Her eyes moved towards the white envelope next and she picked it up , She could tell it was heavy and could already tell its content without opening it. Nonetheless, She pryed into it, She flipped it open in one swift motion. The sight in front of her made her eyes open while the wards of cash arranged itself perfectly inside the envelope and the smell of new money hit her nose annoyingly. Grace dropped the envelope immediately but not before she noticed a small piece of paper which she picked, She read through it.
