The rest of the car ride is filled with silence as Liam drives us to our mystery destination. But it’s not the heavy kind of silence. It’s the kind where you both love the presence of each other such that you don’t want to ruin the moment by uttering a word. He reaches out for my hand while he drives with one hand. My eyes drift to our entwined fingers when my stomach turns from the reminder that I lost my wedding ring seven years ago.

I can't help but feel a flutter of excitement in my stomach, wondering what surprise he has in store for me. I furrow my brows to show my confusion when the car spins around and we start driving back to the Lockhart building. “Have you changed your mind?”

He chuckles a bit before responding, “No love. I got so blown away by your beauty that I forgot where we were supposed to go.”

I’m confused but when he packs and he opens my door, I take his hand and follow him quietly. Soon we are at the rooftop when I see the helicopter waiting.
