Chapter 4. A Sweet Moment

Nina was still stunned when someone lowered the glass of the car's front door; a man was faintly visible behind the wheel, and then a familiar voice called out to her.

"Come quickly, Nina! Do you want the police to arrest me for entering and stopping in the wrong lane," said the man in the car.

"Oh, y-yes, sir!"  Nina hurried inside and sat in the back seat.

"Hey! Do you think I'm the driver, you sit there?"

"Oh, um, sorry."  Nina quickly moved to the front seat, and the car sped out of the bus lane.

Nina still looked nervous and hadn't expected her boss to ask her to get into his car.

"What's wrong with you, Nina? Being told to get in is like looking at a ghost," Nathan said, keeping his eyes focused on the road ahead.

"I... I didn't know it was you, I thought..."  Nina hesitated to continue.

"What did you think it was?" Nathan urged.

"I thought it was a criminal who wanted to kidnap me," Nina replied innocently. Nathan laughed at Nina's frightened response.

"Yeah, you're right. It's not safe for a pretty girl like you to be out alone at this time of night, so I hurried to catch up with you," Nathan said thoughtfully, "but I was going to kidnap you anyway, Nina." Nathan smiled seductively.

"What? Kidnap me?"  Nina was surprised; she reflexively moved her seat to the edge. Nathan laughed out loud at Nina's nervousness.

"Yep, I'm going to kidnap you, Nina," Nathan repeated with a chuckle, "kidnap your heart." Nathan teased again.

"Oh, sir. That joke's not funny." Nina breathed a sigh of relief, but she blushed.

"Hahaha, I'm serious, Nina. I'm going to steal your heart from your boyfriend."

"Oops! What are you talking about, sir? Who also has a boyfriend."

"Oh, you're single, Nina? What a coincidence, no need to kidnap you." Nathan smiled.

"What exactly, sir?"  Nina was evasive, her face hot and flushed, looking so adorable to Nathan, he laughed and pinched Nina's nose.

"Oops, you're being flirtatious, sir."

"Hahaha, this isn't the office, Nina. No need to be so formal, just call me Nathan."

"I don't dare, sir." Nina shook her head.

"What if I ask you? Let's call Nathan."

Nina paused before finally saying, "Okay, N-Nathan."

"Hahaha. That sounds good, try repeating it," Nathan asked.

"Nathan..." Nina said slowly.

"Well, from now on, it's not acceptable to call me sir outside of the office and outside of work, especially when it's just the two of us." Nathan smiled.

Nina didn't answer, but the rhythm in her chest was hammering away. 'Oh my God, what is happening here?

"What time do you usually go to bed, Nin?"

"Eleven at the latest," Nina replied. Nathan looked at his watch.

"It's only fifteen minutes past nine, there's still time for shopping."

"Oh? Shopping?" Nina was confused, "What are you going shopping for at this time of night?"

"Yes, shopping for groceries for you to cook."

"What? Cook? At this time of night? Didn't you eat earlier?"

"Hahaha, not for eating now, right? But for breakfast tomorrow morning."

"Breakfast?" repeated Nina, still confused.

"Hey, don't say you forgot. You want to cook me food, so you make me breakfast tomorrow morning, okay."

"Mr. uh uh-what do you want for breakfast, Nathanny uh Nathan?" asked Nina awkwardly.

"What? Nathanny? Hmm, that sounds sweet, a special nickname from you." Nathan smiled, "Anyway, whatever you want to make, I told you I'm not picky about food, but I am picky about girls," he added, his smile growing wider.

They headed to a supermarket. Nina had no idea what to make, but she picked up some ingredients, meat and vegetables, and a full range of spices.

When they were finished, Nathan paid for all the groceries at the cashier and carried them to the car. Nina walked beside him as if she were in a dream.

"I can't wait until tomorrow morning to enjoy breakfast made by this beautiful girl next to me," Nathan teased with a smile.

"What if it's not good?" asked Nina, feeling less confident.

"There must be a penalty," Nathan replied with a smile.

"What punishment?"

"What's the penalty?"  Nathan smiled, "Hm, there must be one."

Nathan's car drove to the rental house where Nina lived.

"You live here, Nin?" asked Nathan as he looked around.

"Yes, but I took the two rooms upstairs because my auntie and cousin like to come over, and there's a kitchen upstairs, so I can cook for myself."

Nathan nodded. Nina was about to go downstairs, but Nathan held her back.

"Nina... I trust you to keep our secret." Nathan said seriously, his eagle eyes going straight into the girl's eyes.

"Secret...?" repeated Nina in a daze.

Nathan nodded. "Everything that happens between us, our time together, tonight and beyond, is our secret, do you understand?"

Nina slowly nodded before she finally asked, "So on?"

Nathan sighed. "Nina, you are one of my best employees; that's why I am very strict with you; someday, you will handle a big project in our company, so I have to prepare you quietly."

There was silence for a moment; both of them were silent. "But I have another problem, Nina."

"What's the problem?" asked Nina briefly.

Nathan faced Nina, his hands holding the face of the pretty girl, who still looked confused. The man's eyes sparkled softly; he looked at Nina with an intimate gaze; there were a million feelings there.

"I like you, Nina. You're the girl I've fallen in love with."

Nathan spoke the words softly and earnestly, making Nina unable to move. Like being struck by lightning in broad daylight, Nina was stunned until unconsciously; her lips were half open because she was surprised and didn't know what to do.

That's made Nathan's passion flare up even more, a passion that had long been buried with the dark story that had happened to him. A love that Nathan had always hidden behind his haughty and cold demeanor.

"Nina... will you accept my love, Nin? Make me a special person in your heart?" Nathan's voice trembled, and so did Nina's, her heart beating hard. Before she could answer, Nathan lowered his face, gently crushing her lips. For some reason, this time, Nina could no longer stop herself from reciprocating.

The turmoil inside Nina continued to struggle; the blood flow to her face was fast until she felt her face warm. Nina slowly closed her eyes, feeling the softness and sweetness of the lips that kissed her tiny lips. Her arms wrapped around Nathan's neck.

The girl also returned the man's lips gently, which surprised Nathan, and then the man hugged the girl in front of him tightly. The kiss became more profound, wrapped in the desire of their hearts that they had hidden.

Before the desire and passion of both of them struggled and overcame their consciousness, Nathan slowly broke the kiss. However, he pressed his forehead against the forehead of the girl in front of him, who was still closed.

"Nina... thank you, darling, you have accepted and returned my love," Nathan whispered. Slowly, the girl opened her eyes.

"Nathanny I..."

"I know, darling, it doesn't need to be said, but you've proved it." Nathan pressed his nose to hers and, rubbing it gently with a smile, brushed her lips again with a soft, light caress.

Nathan lifted his face and clutched Nina to his chest, and she closed her eyes, feeling the pounding of his heart.

"Nina...Please keep my love with you because it's from the bottom of my heart."  Nathan said as he stroked her hair; Nina nodded.

"For the time being, we will keep our relationship a secret; at work, I am your boss, and behave as usual, can you, Nina?"

"Yes, Nathanny, I understand," Nina replied softly.

"Thank you, sweetheart," said Nathan as he kissed Nina gently on the forehead, "It's late, you go straight to bed, don't forget to make me a special breakfast tomorrow, leave it with Emy at the side door, okay."

"Okay, you also be careful on the road," Nina said sweetly. The girl kissed Nathan gently on the cheek and then hurried downstairs; Nathan immediately drove his car away from the place.

Nina waved goodbye, her face smiling. But without realizing it, a pair of eyes had been watching her.
