While I was speaking to Bella on my phone, I stood up from the bed and walked up to my new room window to peek out. I saw Darlington and his friend, Bruce, standing outside at the garage and beside Bruce's car, discussing.

I wondered why Darlington didn't invite his friend into our house to have breakfast or lunch with us, as it was already afternoon, despite the day being Saturday. Instead, he was escorting Bruce to leave and not giving his friend a chance to get to know me.

I assumed Darlington didn't want Bruce to know that he was married to me, the reason he had a scowl on his face after seeing me give my number to Bruce.

I moved back to the bed to continue my phone call with Bella. "Where are you now?" I asked.

"I just arrived at the city, sis. So instead of going to our uncle's house, my mom said I should pay you a visit and stay with you until school resumes on Monday," Bella said.
