Chapter 21 Shatter Beautiful Dream

Lewis was feeling inexplicably irritable, and with a slap, he tossed his book onto the table and stood up to leave.

That "slap" made Judy's heart tighten.

Had she offended her boss? Could she lose her job?

Just then, she heard Mia's voice in the hallway: "Sir, madam is in severe pain, you should go see her quickly."

Following that, Lewis's hurried footsteps could be heard.

Judy breathed a sigh of relief internally, thanking her lucky stars that Lewis's girlfriend fell ill at such a fitting moment, otherwise this night would have been much harder to endure.

Before long, she heard the hurried footsteps again, this time heading downstairs.

Judy walked over to the window and glanced out just in time to see Lewis supporting his girlfriend into the car, presumably to head to the hospital.

As they were facing away from Judy, Lewis's body also blocked Susan, so Judy didn't get a glimpse of her face.

His girlfriend was draped in Lewis's coat, which showed he really cared for her.
