Chapter 48 Confession

Louis didn't take the situation in any other direction, simply joking around.

He knew Lewis well enough to understand what he was about.

Lewis didn't engage with his banter, lighting another cigarette instead.

"Boss, what’s wrong? Talk to me, don't hold it in," Louis was serious this time. "Is it something to do with the family? I heard that your uncle was put in the detention center, you sent him there."

It wasn't a surprise to Louis that Lewis had sent Bard to the detention center; that was just Lewis's nature, hard and unforgiving. That was why rumors spread about Lewis being heartless and ruthless.

Lewis flicked some ash, "These are trifles."

"What’s bothering you then? Is the family pressing you to marry? Or is it really a 'time' issue? Or could it be you like men and have chosen an ordinary woman as a cover?" Louis's speculation got progressively more outrageous.

"You looking to die?" Lewis's glare carried a killing intent.
