Jason's POV

I paced restlessly in the living room, my heart plunging into great turmoil as the kidnappers decided to not pick or return my calls.

"Why don't we go ahead and give them the documents so that Violet can be freed?" I suggested in frustration.

"We don't even know what she's going through over there." My voice cracked as I raked through my already disheveled hair.

I rarely showed my emotions, moreso, displaying my vulnerability, but the will to keep the tears that had gathered in my eyes from falling failed me.

"We can't give those losers the document, Jay. They aren't to be trusted and what if we hand it over to them and they to ahead to kill her? That means that we lost at both ends," my Grandpa said and I pinched the bridge of my nose with my head aching painfully.

The last few days had gone by without me closing my eyes to sleep. How could I sleep when the only one who could help me achieve that was in danger?
