Luke had turned away from Vera for a split moment to answer his father’s question.

His father asked him, when him and Vera were planning on getting married.

He knew his father would ask that, knowing that Vera was pregnant.

Though, Luke felt frustrated by the question.

He wanted to be married now, to Vera. But she wasn’t ready.

‘Soon,’ was all Luke said.

Luke then turned his attention back to Vera. Only to see that she wasn’t there.

It shocked him. And his response was that he wanted to go and find her. To make sure she was ok.

Josh saw that Luke was wondering where Vera had gone and for that, Josh placed his hand on Luke’s shoulder and spoke.

‘I saw Vera take the twins upstairs.’

Luke turned to him with a smile, knowing that he was still looking out for Vera.

‘Thank you, brother.’

By now, Luke’s father had finished his cigarette and was ready to go back in side.

Relief, washed over Luke.
